This is definitly scary especially since we are just now taking North Korea off the black list. I would hate for this to be an instance where America lets their gaurd down and just opens the door for a potentially devestating event. As for those blueprints they need to be interrogated. Not only for the sake of the United States but also countries globally. You never know who people really want to nuc the hell out of these days… whatever happend to the days where we could all sit around hold hands and sing Cumbaya!

I wrote about this same news on my blog. Did you know that the biggest U.S. beef company was bought by a Brazilian company?
I think the U.S. should stick to exporting services and technology and concentrate and producing better and fresher quality food for locals.

I am glad to see that aid is being delivered to North Korea as well. I doubt very much that the timing of relinquishing the nuclear arms program and the giving of aid are coincidental but a good venture none the less. It could have been a strategy of North Korea – they are aware that the only way they will ave sanctions removed and receive aid is by removing the nuclear weapons program. As Professor Sweetman said in class the other day, they were faced with an ultimatum whether to feed their people or continue on with the nuclear program. I am very happy to hear that they decided the latter. However, if The United States was genuinely good willed, they would have offered the aid regardless of the nuclear program North Korea was undertaking. Simple politics. This is a good illustration of how a country can set policies dictated by the strenght of their economy rather than by the use of arms. Good illustration of that concept learned in class.

wow, look at your blog page, all snazzy. This story is crazy though, if in fact someone has devised blue prints of a compact nuclear bomb and has them just floating around out there is quite scary. I sure hope people understand that they have to be really responsible with that stuff. Bush must have flipped when he saw that.
